Federal Law

The federal Death On High Seas By Wrongful Act, provides victims and their families with a right of recovery for past injuries and past and future pain and suffering.  

The burden of proof lays on the seaman who was injured.  He must prove that the boat owner was negligent or reckless in maintaining or operating the boat.   Compensation for damages are limited to seamen and their immediate family.  

Statute of Limitations

You have three (3) years from the date of the injury to file a lawsuit, otherwise your claim is forever barred by the law.
