According to a recent National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation, insider documents reveal that Toyota had knowledge that its floormats stuck the accelerator, yet still placed the defective vehicles on the market.
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is considering a $16.4 million dollar fine on Toyota for deceiving the public about a safety hazard with its vehicles.
