General Motors Recalls 22,000 Chevrolet Corvettes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Commission (NHTSA) has announced that General Motors (GM) is recalling 22,000 Corvettes Z06s manufactured between 2005-2007.  The model has a defectively designed removable roof.  The adhesive gluing the roof to the frame in some vehicles erodes over regular use, causing leakage and the risk of the roof flying off while the vehicle is in motion.

Dealers will install a new roof panel free of charge for affected cars.

Owners can contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, or at www.gmownercenter.com. and NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov.
