Faulty Floor Mats, Toyota Recalls 3.8 Million Vehicles

Following a 4-fatality collision in San Diego, likely caused by a Toyota floor mat snagging the gas pedal, Toyota announced its largest vehicle recall.  It is reported that one minute before the collision, the driver of the careening Toyota called police to report that the Toyota’s gas pedal was stuck and kept accelerating.  The Toyota reached a speed of 120 mph before colliding with an SUV.

If you have any of the following models, rather than just replacing its floor mats, you are encouraged to return your vehicle under Toyota’s recall:

  • 2007-2010 Camry
  • 2005-2010 Avalon
  • 2004-2009 Prius
  • 2005-2010 Tacoma
  • 2007-2010 Tundra
  • 2007-2010 ES 350
  • 2006-2010 IS 250 and IS 350
